The Guild of Photographers runs an annual Photographer of the Year competition along the course of 2014 when it receives over 10,000 images.
Julie has been shortlisted as one of no more than 6 photographers to make the final assessment process which in itself is a remarkable achievement.
The final assessment will take place in January with the overall winners being announced at a spectacular awards evening in February.
This is the e-mail that dropped on my desk a couple of weeks ago, I am so pleased, Photography wise this is the first time I have entered any competitions, its hard when its your job to put your images out there to be judged, but I guess I do that every time I take a picture, so what was there to loose. So I joined the Guild 15 month ago and in doing so started to enter their monthly competitions.
Here is my image that as been chosen, I took this image during a lifestyle shoot at daisy’s house, Joy her mum wanted some images of her daughter daisy and there dog Jack, I took this on their living room sofa on a very wet day in November.
When I told Joy about the competition she was thrilled, The presentation evening which is being held on the 7th of February is being held on Daisy’s 8th birthday lets hope this is a good omen!
Fingers crossed x
